We have a physical and emotional fear. Our physical fears keep us from dying - literally. When we are walking on the edge of a cliff and suddenly the path gets a little tricky, what happens? All of our senses expand and become heightened. We suddenly can hear every little rock falling around us, the wind in the trees and even the sound of rushing water somewhere in the distance. We can smell the cliff rocks, the grass and even something else drifting on the wind. Our fingers spread out, our toes expand - because we need more information about our surroundings or what is coming at us so we know to keep going or turn back or even take another path. 

Emotional fear is the same way - but we have been told and conditioned to think that this kind of fear is not there to keep us safe but to hold us back. 

Everywhere you look there is a course or book on how to conquer, squash, get over or forget your fears. There is a multi-billion dollar consumer industry hinging on keeping us afraid of our fears. The reality is our fears are powerful tools sent by our intuition to yes - keep us safe but also to figure out what would make this life EVEN better.
